The Jackal has been resurrected! The new Jackal Ghost is here to reign terror on heavy oil. With paranormal performance, it delivers more total hook potential than any previous Jackal with no loss in continuation. It’s scary good!
The Predator V2 weight block, first used on the Jackal LE, is now at the core of the Jackal Ghost. Featuring a low RG and loads of differential, this asymmetric design is easy to rev and produces massive track flare.
Combining the physics of the Predator V2 with the chemistry of the new Coercion HFS (High Friction Solid) cover stock, the Jackal Ghost elevates heavy oil performance to a new level. Coercion HFS is the most aggressive cover stock to date on a bowling ball in the Jackal product line. Tuned with a 3000 Grit LSS finish, bowlers will see both excellent mid-lane read and unbelievable continuation.
Obviously, the Jackal Ghost will be a go-to ball for bowlers that want to see more hook without sacrificing continuation on higher volumes of oil. It will also be ideal for bowlers that have a low rev rate or higher ball speeds.

#LegendsNeverDie! Review by wya_rya
“How will they recovery from this?”
“There is no way they can survive such a crippling blow….”
That’s right… A devastating blow was thrown at MOTIV March 2015 when the decision was made by USBC to revoke the approval of the monsters that were the Jackal and Jackal Carnage. Such a decision has been known to be demise of many… But people thought the monster was slain… the monster was no more, but they couldn’t be more mistaken. The monster laid dormant, changing, evolving… lying in wait for when it may return and spread its terror once more. And so the beast has returned, the Jackal Ghost!
Do not allow the name fool you. You make thing that the Ghost is simply a phantom of its former self, but that will prove to be a fatal mistake on those who stand in this piece’s path. A legend such as the Jackal does not die, it simply evolves as seen with the Ghost. The Ghost introduces both a new core in the Predator V2 asymmetric and cover stock in the Coercion HFS (High Friction Solid). This deadly combination will give the Ghost’s master the ability to fight through heavy oil conditions providing superior mid-lane reaction and the MOTIV’s trademark continuation. This ball, with this new technology, in fact provides us with even more over hook than any previous Jackal and yet, we don’t sacrifice the ball continuation on those heavier oil patterns.
It is absolutely true what has been said, #LegendsNeverDie! With the Jackal Ghost. I know some did not have the opportunity to fully experience the capabilities the Jackal and Jackal Carnage presented. Some unfortunately missed out on the chance entirely. The void was there, it could not be denied but MOTIV heard you, heard US. Not only was the void filled, the Ghost delivers so much more than what was lost. I knew it from the first set I threw with the Ghost how great of a piece it is. Straight out of the box, I rolled an 814 series. The Ghost, with this stronger engine and aggressive cover, it allowed me to open up the lanes early on a FRESH house pattern. This core and cover combination allows for good angle to be given but yet, it is very rare that the ball will not generate great pin action when it does not give you the dead-flush hit. To take it a step further, I can firm up the ball speed, square up even and yet the Ghost can still turn the corner, rarely overthrown and thrown through the breakpoint (unless you’re trying to do it of course!). Just this past week, in my Thursday night league, a second shift league mind you, I rolled a 300 right out of the gate. The surprising part of shooting this 300 was the fact that rather than opening up the lane second shift, I actually had to square up and migrate left (I’m left-handed!). There was actually a few shots during the game that, the Ghost read the mid-lane perfectly, but yet there was some unseen carry down caused it to labor down lane. Despite this fact, thanks to the heavier core, the pin action was there to carry those light hits.

Jackal Ghost | #Legendsneverdie
Description: The Jackal Ghost is the third “official” Jackal of the series. It has an all new coverstock, Coercion HFS Solid. The inside utilizes a modified asymmetrical Predator Core that was found in the original Jackal and Jackal Carnage, now called the Predator V2 (Also found in the Jackal LE).
Reaction: I tend to really like asymmetrical pieces, especially with solid covers, with that said the Jackal Ghost has become the strongest ball in my bag. My first layout 60X4.5X60 (Pin down, no hole) at the box finish is strong in the front and middle part of the lane with a smoother arcing motion down lane. For me I can see this ball at this surface being utilized more on tougher patterns and actually opening them up a little when they are flatter without sacrificing carry. Although I don't always make surface changes in my initial testing, I did with the Jackal Ghost. Initial testing was on a heavier house pattern and had no trouble playing deeper and carry was better than expected. I took the Jackal Ghost to the spinner and threw some MOTIV Gloss on it. It allowed me to move a solid arrow right and allowed me to have a lot of hold and also have a lot of bounce and never over hooked with the surface adjustment. It has since become my favorite ball on house patterns. It's a ball I know that will hook and that I can be firm and confident with.
Comparisons: Everything else in my bag hooks less than the Jackal Ghost. The Jackal LE is close in terms of hook potential but still falls 2-3 boards short. The Jackal LE also responds a little faster down lane. The Trident is about 3-4 boards less in total hook, but once again responds faster down lane. The Jackal Ghost provides no overlap and is a great addition to bowlers looking for HOOK.
Summary: This ball WILL force you left of everything you have. It will allow you to still control the lane and provide a great motion through the pins resulting in very good carry.
Between the Jackal Ghost, Jackal LE and Trident MOTIV really does have all the variations needed in asymmetrical balls. Even more than most releases this ball performed very well with the surface change I made (MOTIV Gloss).
