Len Nicholson, also known as The Phantom, hosts a weekly radio bowling talk show. The show is called "Phantom Radio", and can be accessed right here on this website.

Nicholson’s career has been devoted to the science of bowling lane maintenance and for more than 20 years, the Tucson, Arizona resident was the PBA Tour’s lane maintenance director. Nicholson, 71, has gained worldwide industry recognition as one of the foremost experts on the subject of lane maintenance. He was instrumental in developing the PBA Lane Maintenance Program in 1971 which is still referred to today.

He was a founding member of the Bowling Foundation which was created to finding solutions to scoring issues in bowling. He has authored several bowling publications on all aspects of the game and also has served on the technical committee of the World Tenpin Bowling Association.

He is a proud recipient of bowling industry’s Flowers for the Living Award and the John Davis Award in recognition for his contributions to the sport.  In 2011, he was honored by being inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame in the Meritorious Service Category.  Also in 2011, he was awarded the first annual Jim Jaryszak Award by the USBC for the major role he has played in developing lane conditioning procedures over the years.

In 2011, the World Bowling Writers also honored this industry giant with one of their most prestigious awards – that being, the: Gosta Zeller Golden Quill Award for his many contributions to the Sport of bowling.
